At one point, I had some big ambitions for this navigation bar. I was going to have a cool flash-based graphic web with links to all of my favorite sites under the hiply named “surf” tab. I even made the flash thing. But then my favorites started to change. Boingboing got less wonderful; I discovered xkcd and ticklebooth; I went through photoblog phases and political phases. You know how it goes. So I gave up on the surf thing. And I created a tumblelog, which I cleverly titled wiscotumblr. As for the scrap tab, I’m not even sure what I was thinking, really. I suppose I was going to post random pictures and . . . honestly, I have no idea. I’m not even going to try to explain. So there you have it. I’d get rid of the navigation bar altogether, but now, four years after its inception, it seems like a fitting metaphor for something. So it stays.
